The News team is on summer break and the next issue will publish in September.
- Be Cool, Capitol Hill. The hot summer season has arrived and CHV has some “cool” suggestions for staying safe. Also: learn about DC’s Heat Emergency Plan and how to sign up for notifications. See pages 1 & 2.
- Summer Reading and Beyond. The CHV Literary Club has determined the book selections for the coming year. And you can also join an antiracist discussion pod which is starting a new book in July. See pages 5 and 10.
- When to Call the Village? If you’ve sometimes wondered “When should I call the Village,” we have some answers. See page 12.
- Thinking about the Perfect Coda for a Life Well-Lived. A June Capitol Hill Village Symposium was Part II of a program encouraging members to think about and talk about their end-of-life. Two end-of-life options were featured: hospice care and DC’s Death with Dignity law. See page 8.
