Volunteer Resumption Update: Capitol Hill Village is slowly resuming volunteer activities, with additional protocols for the safety of our members, volunteers, and broader community. We strive to be as cautious as possible; however, there is some risk involved in any person-to-person interaction at this time. Please read the “Volunteering In Person Safely During COVID-19” guidelines carefully to ensure that you are ready to volunteer or receive volunteer services. (Updated August 5, 2020)
Volunteerism is the secret ingredient to an engaged community. This is a two-sided coin. Individuals need volunteers to help with life’s challenges. AND – we all need to know that our skills and ideas are valued.
CHV recruits, trains and deploys volunteers across the year for all sorts of tasks including:
- Rides to the doctor
- Office help and event planning
- Cleaning a garage
- IT and computer help
- Friendly visits
- Running errands
- Planning and presenting on a topic, or starting an affinity group
CHV works with seniors giving back, individuals who have spare time and talents, students in community service, teams from workplaces, and families spending time together.
CHV will help create the volunteer experience for you. Interested in making new friends through volunteering? Want to talk to WWII vets? How about learning a new skill by teaching it to others? Tell us what you want from volunteering and we will create an experience for you!
Volunteer with us! Our online volunteer application is currently being updated, please call 202-543-1778 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will assist you with becoming a volunteer. We look forward to working with you!
