Volunteer Update: Capitol Hill Village has resumed many volunteer activities, with additional protocols for the safety of our members, volunteers, and broader community. We strive to be as cautious as possible; however, there is some risk involved in any person-to-person interaction at this time. At this time we require that volunteers who are in close contact with members, such as indoors or in a car, be vaccinated.

Volunteerism is the secret ingredient to an engaged community.  This is a two-sided coin.  Individuals need volunteers to help with life’s challenges.  AND – we all need to know that our skills and ideas are valued.

CHV recruits, trains and deploys volunteers across the year for all sorts of tasks including:

  • Rides to the doctor
  • Office help and event planning
  • Cleaning a garage
  • IT and computer help
  • Friendly visits
  • Running errands
  • Planning and presenting on a topic, or starting an affinity group

Among our volunteer corps, CHV has seniors giving back, individuals who have spare time and talents, students in community service, teams from workplaces, and families spending time together.
