moveDC is the long-range transportation plan for the District of Columbia. Under Mayor Bowser’s leadership, moveDC establishes goals, policies, strategies and metrics for District Department of Transportation to invest in transportation facilities and programs that address the future needs of Washingtonians across all eight wards. We need input from all residents to ensure that our long-range plan reflects the needs and priorities of a world class city like Washington, DC.

Mayor Bowser just announced that the Public Health Emergency that was due to expire this week has been extended until December 31. Current rules and restrictions will remain in place, with some minor changes. To read the Mayor’s order, you can click HERE.

It would be fair to say that things have not gotten significantly worse in our region (with the exception, perhaps, of certain super-spreader events) but they haven’t improved either, especially when Maryland and Virginia are also factored in. For CHV, this means we will continue to be conservative in our approach to events and services, and that we will remain focused on helping members avoid unnecessary exposure and reduce their risk whenever exposure is necessary. We will also remain vigilant about the social and emotional needs of our community — the longer we need to isolate ourselves, the more we all feel the impact. If you or someone you know needs support, we are happy to help.

Are you looking for an upside? Well, if your driver’s license expired anytime since March this year, you now have 45 days after December 31 to get it renewed!

In times like these, we all need a Village!

(Also, don’t forget to get a flu shot!!)
