Why Volunteer With Us?

Over 300 Volunteers strong, Capitol Hill Village is proud to have so many neighbors supporting our mission; unified by a desire to strengthen our community.

Volunteering with Capitol Hill Village looks like building meaningful connections with your neighbors. No matter the task, big or small, our volunteers play an important role in helping members age in place.

Ways to Help

Transportation

Drive neighbors to medical appointments, the grocery store, or Village events. Access to reliable transportation is key to independence.

Home Help

Assist with household projects, minor repairs, yard work, gardening, and snow shoveling.

Tech Support

Help members learn how to use smart phones and other devices, set up new devices, and provide support for laptop and PC users.

Social Connection

Staying connected is vital, provide one time support or long term support.

Events & Programs

Become an Affinity Group leader, help out with our Annual Gala, get involved with fundraising, or join the Capitol Hill Village Board.

We value your expertise and passions.

Office Support

Help Capitol Hill Village run smoothly by providing support in person at the Office, with technical tasks, and administrative tasks.

How to Get Started

1. Apply

To keep our members safe, all volunteers complete a standard background check. The application takes around 15 minutes and includes basic identity verification.

2. Orientation

Attend a new volunteer orientation session where you’ll learn about our programs, get to know our staff, and other important information to start volunteering.

3. Start Helping

Use our volunteer portal on Helpful Village to find opportunities that fit your interests, skills, and availability.
