CHV knows that community members who are continually learning, pursuing wellness, volunteering and maintaining social connections are healthier, think more clearly, and have a better outlook on life.  This is the foundation for programs.

Health and Wellness

Includes a range of recurring and special events across the year. See the CHV calendar for recurring events which include QiGong, walking, Tai Chi, meditation, yoga and more.

Wellness Cafes

Monthly, lunchtime, hands-on learning programs with a range of topics from laughing yoga, to foot health, to exploring vegetarian cooking, to eating well at the holidays.

Activities
Symposia and Seminars

About 6-times a year, CHV hosts symposia and seminars featuring guest speakers exploring a range of health, wellness, aging, or community living topics. The events feature experts as well as interactive discussions and planning for community members to apply the topics to their lives and community. View resources from symposia.

Aging in Community

CHV offers frequent courses on managing finances; establishing living wills, powers of attorney and related topics for members.  See related articles and materials.

Village Voices

This free, monthly, evening series features presentations and discussions by community members sharing their expertise on a range of historical, political, cultural or policy issues. Topics have included political media, religious architecture, American foodways, archives from war-torn areas, the US military’s evolution through accepting LGBTQ individuals.

Techknowledge

Technology is a key tool for seniors’ ability to stay connected and independent. CHV offers about 15 technology classes a year, as well as one-on-one assistance. View technology resources.

Activities
Social and Recreational

We have over 40 activities a month including games, three walking groups, pétanque (like bocce), Tai Chi, movies, yoga, lunches, museum-going, book groups, poetry and more. Nearly every single day there is at least one activity. Key to our social and recreational groups is that they are not clubs. You can participate once, occasionally, or every week. It is up to you.
