If you want to become a Capitol Hill Village member, you must reside on Capitol Hill within the following boundaries: H NE to M Streets, SE, North and South Capitol Streets to 19th Streets, SE and NE.
Applicants pay dues to cover services and referrals provided by Capitol Hill Village. Contributions to Capitol Hill Village are tax-deductible, but dues are not because members receive services in return.
By Mail To become a Member of the Capitol Hill Village by mail, (download BecomeaMember_000, complete, and return with payment.
Online with PayPal To become a Member of the Capitol Hill Village using PayPal (which accepts credit cards) click on the PayPal "add to cart" or "subscribe" link below one of the four membership options we offer. Some browsers do not work well with Paypal; if you are having difficulty, use Windows Explorer. Only click one link, and only once. It may not look like anything happens until you click the "view cart" link. Individual Membership $500 per year (which saves you $76 over the year ahead compared to the monthly payment option.) Household Memberships $750 per year (which saves you $90 over the year ahead compared to the monthly payment option.) Individual membership 1 year with 12 monthly $48 payments Household memberships 1 year with 12 monthly $70 payments Browsers interact with PayPal differently. If a hyperlink did not take you to PayPal's Shopping Cart when you pressed "Add to Cart" or "Subscribe" (above), click "View Cart" (below). This will take you to the PayPal website to verify the transaction and complete the payment. Before you click the "checkout" on the PayPal "view cart" page you can change the quantities if you accidentally hit an extra link. Capitol Hill Village offers assistance to members with financial support from the Spring Creek Foundation and contributions to the Steven C. Rogers Fund. If you reside alone your income must be $40,000 or less or if there are 2 or more in your household, your income must be $50,000 or less. If you are qualified please apply for Capitol Hill Village Membership Plus program. If you do you will receive gift certificates in the amount of $250 a year if you live alone ($375 if there are two or more in your household) to use with Capitol Hill Village preferred vendors, when volunteers are not available to provide a service you request. Applicants who meet the residence and income criteria are accepted on a first-come first-served basis. Qualified individuals pay dues of $100/year (or $10/month), while Households (two or more living in the same home) pay $200/year ($20/month). Do you want to apply?
