CHV Travel Club - Walters Museum, Baltimore
Friday, May 11 at 9:00AM for 1 day(signup deadline is 3 pm, May 04)
Baltimore, MD; accessible
The recent Nor’easter blew away the CHV Travel Club’s trip to Baltimore planned for
March 2-3. Because of the difficulty in scheduling another overnight trip before
the Faberge exhibition closes at the Walters in late June, we are proposing an abbreviated
version of the trip on Friday, May 11. This will be mostly a do-it-yourself affair,
built around the docent-led Faberge tour at the Walters.
The one-hour tour on
May 11 (cost is $7) will be at 12 Noon. If you want to go on the tour, you will
need to reserve by calling the Village office. People will be able to sign up for
the May 11 tour even if they did not reserve for the earlier March 2 tour.
people can build their own rest-of-the-trip. Some people are interested in going
to the Aquarium on Friday evening at the half-price rate ($13.45 for seniors from
5-8 p.m.) You can buy tickets on-line from the Aquarium (the Aquarium web-site will
indicate how many tickets are left at that time, so you can plan accordingly).
And, some people plan to book a hotel and spend the night in Baltimore. Others may
opt to return to Washington on Friday.
Let the CHV Office know your plans, and
we will link people with similar interests and help coordinate mode of travel, group
meals, etc. The train option remains viable regardless of when you return to Washington.
