Saturday, May 19 at 6:30 pm (signup deadline was 3 pm, May 17)
700 East Capitol St., NE, Washington DC 20002

When Peggy O`Brien is involved, education is fun, as guests at this dinner will learn. Fifth graders unleashing Shakespearan insults on the Folger Library`s stage in a 30-minute Taming of the Shrew, teachers from across the Uniteed States studying the Bard with Folger scholars, film shows of novels by Willa Cather, Eudora Welty, and Langston Hughes, especially made for English teachers to use in American high schools. These are some of the many creative projects launched by Peggy O`Brien during her wide-ranging educational career from the Folger Library to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the DC Public Schools, and now back again to the Folger as Director of Education. $75
