Scholar, lecturer, and writer Jack Wennersten specializes in conservation and environmental topics and is an authority on the Chesapeake Bay and Washington area waterways. His several books include Anacostia: The Death and Life of an American River, The Oyster Wars of Chesapeake Bay, Global Thirst: Water and Society in the 21st Century, Maryland`s Eastern Shore: A Journey in Time and Place, and The Historic Waterfront of Washington, DC. His most recent volume (2017) is Rising Tides: Climate Refugees in the Twenty-First Century. A longtime Capitol Hill resident, Jack is also Professor Emeritus of American Studies at the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore. $75
