THIS IS A CROSSBAR

Evening and Afternoon Literary Club

Tuesday, December 19 at 6 pm to 7:30 pm (signup deadline is 3 pm, Dec 18)
| 324 G Street SE, the home of Mary Procter, 20 steps

In December the Evening and Afternoon Literary Clubs will meet together to share their favorite poems and holiday food. Bring a favorite poem to read to the group (not too long please) and some food to share. It`s our version of a holiday party. There will be no separate afternoon meeting in December. Poetry is good for us! Many of us don`t read lots of poetry, but this session is always fun--an excuse to get out our old college English books, or to get on the Web and look up one of those poets we remember enjoying. If you are stumped for a poem, go to Garrison Keillor`s The Writers Almanac; you`ll find very accessible poetry there (not what you see in The New Yorker!).
