1644 31st St. NW; some areas of Tudor Place non-accessable
Tudor Place is a fascinating five-and-a-half acre hidden gem in the heart of the
residential area of Georgetown, just south of the more popular Dumbarton Oaks. Tudor
Place was in the same family, all of whom were direct descendants of Martha Custis
Washington, from the late 1700`s until the mid-1980`s. It was then gifted to a not-for-profit
and subsequently opened to the public.
Following the visit to Tudor House, we
will stroll a block north to Dumbarton Oaks to visit the gardens and its newly renovated
museum. The gardens are closing for renovation from July through next March so this
may be the last time to see them for almost a year. The entrance fee for Dumbarton
Oaks is $8 for seniors lunch is 20.00. Please make a check payable to the Village
for the complete amount of 28.00. This is the price for the entrance as well as lunch.
